HOMEWOOD, Alabama--It shouldn't be hard for an insurance adjuster to find a building that was struck by a vehicle Wednesday.
A sports utility vehicle ended up inside Ted Townley's State Farm insurance office following a two-vehicle wreck in the 3000 block of Independence Drive (U.S. 31) about 6 p.m.
There were no injuries and no one was in the building at the time.
A van was turning across two lanes of stopped traffic when it was struck by the SUV in the outside lane, according to a Homewood police officer. The SUV continued on through the front window of the office. A heavy thunderstorm had passed over the area and the streets were wet, according to the officer.
Homewood firefighters checked the stability of the building and knocked the remaining glass out of the broken windows.
