Rob Ford calls for man behind lawsuit to pay his legal costs

Mayor Rob Ford's lawyer says the man who brought the conflict-of-interest case against him should have to cover about $120,000 in legal costs.

The mayor's legal team has filed documents with the divisional court, and if the court rules in his favour, Paul Magder, will have to be responsible for the costs.

This comes as Toronto Coun. Doug Ford, called on the city's integrity commissioner to step down or apologize to his brother over the conflict-of-interest case.

Coun. Ford says Janet Leiper's initial report on Mayor Ford's conflict-of-interest case triggered a chain of events that almost forced the mayor out of office.

?Because of her decision, it ended up causing major hurt, not only to Rob and his family, but most of all to the city,? said Ford. ?It was unstable there for a month or so because of her decision and I don?t see any apology.?

In November a divisional court ruling ordered Rob Ford removed from office for voting on a council motion that would have allowed the mayor to avoid repaying $3,150 in donations to his football charity.

An appeal court overturned that ruling in January. A three-judge panel agreed with arguments made by Ford?s lawyers that council never had the power to compel the mayor to pay back the donations.

On Thursday, Leiper told council she never sought legal advice before demanding Mayor Ford repay the money.

(AP) ? Gusty winds and iced-over roadways made for treacherous Midwest travel Friday as a major winter storm headed east over the Great Lakes.

Two deaths have been linked to the storm, including one in a fatal traffic accident in Minnesota. Accidents and slide-offs were widespread across the affected states. Commuters faced strong winds of Lake Michigan in eastern Wisconsin. While Chicago's large fleet of snowplows salted and cleared the city's streets of 3 inches of snow, commuters slogged through slush to get to their offices.

About 270 flights in and out of Chicago's two airports were canceled Friday morning. Arrival delays of up to 90 minutes were reported at O'Hare airport. The Kansas City and St. Louis, Mo., airports both reopened Friday morning but had numerous cancellations and delays.

The snow began falling in Detroit just in time for the morning rush, turning streets and freeways into a mess.

Head bowed and arms crossed, 45-year-old Patrice Denham pushed forward into Detroit's swirling snow. She had just walked several blocks to her townhouse complex's leasing office for a new mailbox key and was heading back home.

"You live in the city of Detroit and you do what you have to do," Denham said referring to the rough winter weather that regularly affects the city. "If it's going to be cold, it's going to be cold. But this has been only an average winter."

Where the storm struck hardest Wednesday and Thursday, impressive snow totals rolled in ? 17 inches in Hays, Kan.; 13 inches in northern Oklahoma; 13 ? inches in northeast Missouri and south-central Nebraska; and 12 inches in parts of Kansas City, Mo.

As it moved farther north and east overnight and into Friday, the system lost strength. Illinois' totals ranged from 7.5 inches in the west-central town of Rushville to a mix of sleet and freezing rain in the St. Louis, Mo., suburbs. Dodge County in southeastern Minnesota received 8 inches by Friday morning, and Trempealeau County of western Wisconsin had 7 inches.

Students across a large swath of Kansas spent a second day at home as crews continue to excavate residential neighborhoods. Schools also were closed Friday in parts of Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The Kansas Legislature was back in session Friday after canceling its meetings Thursday, but lawmakers' schedule was light.

Travel continued to be the major issue Friday.

A United plane slid off a slick runway at the Cleveland airport onto a grassy area Friday morning. No injuries were reported.

The Minnesota State Patrol blamed the snow for over 200 accidents during the Friday morning commute. One driver was killed when a vehicle lost control, slid into oncoming traffic and was broadsided on a highway in the St. Paul suburb of Eagan.

A death in western Iowa was also linked to the storm when a woman was run over Thursday by her car, which had gotten stuck on her steep, slippery driveway.

Also in Iowa, a bus carrying members of a college softball team was involved in a multi-vehicle crash Friday morning. It closed part of Interstate 80 east of Des Moines, and no serious injuries were reported.

In some locations, the storm didn't live up to the hype. At the Pilot Flying J station near Interstate 29 in southwest Iowa, shift manager Kelly Malone said Friday his company had taken precautions by reserving seven rooms for employees at the nearby Super 8 Motel.

"We were prepared for the worst, but it didn't happen that bad," he said. Iowa's snow totals topped out at 9.7 inches near Sioux City.

"To me it was just an average storm, but I'm a person who drives through anything," he said.

G?ney Koreli baz? kaynaklar, Galaxy S4 modelinde Exynos 5 i?lemcilerde ya?anan ?s?nma ve pil sorunu nedeniyle tamamen Snapdragon 600 i?lemcisine y?nelece?ini iddia etmi?ti.

Sammobile taraf?ndan firma i?i kaynaklardan yeni nesil Galaxy S4 i?in resmi ?zelliklerin elde edildi?i bilgisi ge?ildi.

????? alt?nda yans?may? en aza indiren, daha iyi g?r?? a??lar? sunan bir teknoloji bar?nd?r?yor. ?zellikle m?cevher sergilerinde renk canl?l???n? art?rmak i?in SoLux teknolojisi i?eren ayd?nlatmalara yer verilmekte.

Bu ?zelliklere sahip Galaxy S4 modelinin kullan?c? kaybedece?i ?ok a??k. Ancak yine de belirtti?imiz gibi bu iddialar sadece LTE versiyonuna y?nelik iddialar olabilir.?

(AP) ? David Gregory has re-upped as host of "Meet the Press."

NBC News shared no details, but described the new deal as "a long-term commitment."

"What a great vote of confidence from NBC," a pleased-looking Gregory said Thursday. He said his first four years in the moderator's chair have passed quickly.

"In some ways, it feels like we're just getting started," he said.

The 42-year-old Gregory began as host of the Sunday morning public-affairs program in December 2008, succeeding the late Tim Russert.

Before that, he was Chief White House correspondent during the presidency of George W. Bush. He joined NBC News in 1995.

Gregory is only the 10th permanent host of "Meet the Press," which premiered in 1947 and continues as the longest-running program on network television.

Looking beyond the new contract, Gregory said he planned to be hosting the program "for as long as they'll let me."

"I can't think of a better platform to have for doing what I love to do ? the interviews ? and as an outlet for my curiosity," he said. "I think this is an impactful, influential program, and I love being associated with it."

The Bangalore Web Designers strategy |

The goal of most Bangalore website designers is to create an attractive, easily accessible and functional website that will convince the visitor to do something. Creating such a website requires good graphic design, easy and intuitive site navigation, logical site layout and good web copy. The following suggestions are general ?Bangalore web design guidelines.

Web Content

You want the visitor to see you as a knowledgeable information source and/or a reputable business. Poor grammar and spelling will immediately reduce your credibility. Remember that people use the internet to find information. Whether you are selling your own product or recommending someone else?s products, you must first provide valuable information to the visitor or they will click away and find a website that gives them what they what they want.

Cross Browser Compatibility

There are at least a hundred different browsers in use. You must design your website to work properly in the most widely used browsers. To do that you may not be able to use all of the really great special effects that are available because they may not be supported in most browsers.

Even though most web browsers are free, people do not necessary bother to upgrade to the latest versions. The average surfer may not know how to upgrade their browser or have the attitude, ?If it works, don?t fix it.? Remember your visitor may have a PC, a MAC, a Linux box, a PDA or a cell phone and they all use different browsers.
Graphics and Photos

Web surfers are impatient and studies show that most people will click away if a webpage takes longer than 10 seconds to load. Always optimize your photos and other graphic files to have as small a size as possible without sacrificing picture quality.

Always use the height and width attributes on the picture so the rest of the page can load while the graphic files is downloading. Use the ALT HTML tag so people with graphics turned off and those using hand held devices know what the picture is supposed to be.

Background Colors

If you use anything other than white behind text, be sure to specify link colors otherwise the user?s browser defaults will determine what color the links are which can make them unreadable.

Multimedia

Multimedia is composed of flash movies, video clips, audio clips and background music. Always use streaming media because it reduces download time. Make sure the visitor can stop and start multimedia files or in the case of flash introductions, skip them if they want. That way people with slow connections or devices that don?t support multimedia can ignore them.

Also, put any important information presented in multimedia in text as well so the visitor has access to that information without using multimedia. If a plug-in is needed to use the multimedia, always provide a link to it so the user can install it. Finally, always remember the 10-second rule for site loading when deciding to use multimedia.

Site Navigation

Site navigation should be simple and intuitive. Studies have shown if a visitor cannot access the information they want within three clicks, they will leave the site. This is called the 3-click rule. Every area of your website should be reachable within three clicks from anywhere else on the site. If you use anything other than simple text links, make sure to test your navigation in all the major browsers.

Links

Periodically test all site links to be certain that they are valid. Nothing chases a visitor off faster than broken links. There are several free online services that will periodically check your links.

Frames?

Avoid using frames, since they make it difficult to bookmark individual pages on your web site and you want people to bookmark pages so they can come back.

Good Bangalore ?Web design is a combination of common sense and good planning. Your site should be attractive and easy to use and most importantly provide the user with the information or services they want.
Good web design requires your web pages to work in Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox, Opera and Safari at a minimum. Validating your HTML code will help but the final test is to view your website in different browsers running on different platforms.

CloudOn releases version 40, brings its productivity features to a number of Android handsets

A mere couple of months have passed since CloudOn outed its third major revision on Android and iOS, and today the productivity-focused application is making yet another numerical jump. With today's announcement of version 4.0, the app's set to expand on the previous iteration by bringing its Office functionality outside of Apple's famed smartphone and onto some that are powered by Google's mobile OS. This means Android users with a compatible smartphone can now view, edit, create, and share documents with CloudOn, which should be a rather familiar experience for those who've been utilizing the tablet app since its humble beginnings on Google Play. CloudOn 4.0 (along with its newly added support for landscape mode) is now available worldwide, although you'll have to check out the presser past the jump in order to find out if your beloved handset is included in the list of fitting devices.
