Networking Skills Put to the Test

CompTIA is a non-profit organization that specializes in validating knowledge of a wide range of computing professionals. They offer tests in many different vendor neutral areas. These include computer technology skills, security, networking, server administration and training. The test that CompTIA administers is designed to validate basic networking knowledge and skills. At this time, there are not any prerequisites to taking the CompTIA Network + certification exam. However, they do recommend at least nine months of networking experience and CompTIA A+ certification before taking the Network+ exam.

There are a number of approved training materials and courses provided on CompTIA?s website. They recommend Comptia network+ Deluxe Study Guide with Network+ Virtual Lab to prepare yourself for the test. When you?re ready to take the test, any Prometric testing center can administer it. It is questions long and you have 90 minutes to complete it. The test questions are multiple choice and you need a score of 720 to pass. That passing score shows you understand network technology, network media, topographies, network devices, network management, tools and network security.
