Streaming Media East 2008 to Look Towards Focus Group of Students to Help Uncover the Future Trends of Online Video Consumption

In a first at a Streaming Media event, a special session on Tuesday, May 20 will use a focus group of high school and college students to discuss their online video consumption habits. The goal of the discussion is to uncover what kinds of video they consume, how often they consume it, the devices used for playback and what they will tolerate in the way of advertising. Find out what their perspective is on pay media and portable content, as well as what they think the future holds for the next generation of viewers on the web. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own questions for a Q&A session with the students at the end of the session.
The ?Millennials,? as the current generation of young adults is sometimes called, are a key demographic to look at when analyzing the future of online video, from desktop to mobile. This session titled ?Focus Group: Young People?s Attitudes Toward Online Video? will try to create a dialog that helps create a clearer picture of those potential user trends.
