BFBN: When family doesn't support your parenting style

Today we?re wrapping up our Babywise Friendly Blog Network week. After having gotten some tips on childcare and the importance of finding time to ourselves, Emily is going to share a little on how to deal with family members who don?t agree with your parenting style.

??Monday:?Maureen @?Childwise Chat
??Tuesday:?Valerie @?Chronicles of a Babywise Mom
??Wednesday:?Bethany @?The Graceful Mom
??Thursday: Rachel @?A Mother Far From Home
??Friday:?Emily @?Journey of Parenthood

Being a mother ? particularly a first time mother ? is challenging. Add to that family and others who are not supportive of your ?style? of parenting and you have a real recipe for insecurity. Emily?shares her personal story on how she handled the initial misgivings of her family with her parenting style and how the results of her choices won everyone over. Reminds me of the verse in Luke that says ?But wisdom is shown to be right by the lives of those who follow it.??

Emily will be talking Babywise, but the principles remain the same. Whatever your parenting style you are bound to run into someone who thinks another way is best. I hope her testimony encourages you to press on in that which you believe in, and give everyone else a chance to come around. Or if not, to still believe in yourself and the choices you make!
