Depleted Giants rally to beat Reds (Reuters)

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) ? The San Francisco Giants shrugged off a string of injuries to rally for a 4-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday.

The Giants, with Buster Posey and Pablo Sandoval on a growing injury list, got more bad news on Friday when second baseman Freddy Sanchez dislocated his shoulder.

Making matters worse, San Francisco were playing for the 20th day without a break on Sunday but still managed to overcome a 2-0 deficit to get the win.

"There are some tired guys here," Giants manager Bruce Bochy told reporters.

"One guy in particular, Aubrey (Huff), has played every day. Mentally, it's time to give these guys a break. These guys have been through a lot with team mates getting injured and 20 in a row."

The Reds (34-33) took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning, Scott Rolen doubling home Joey Votto before Edgar Renteria's sacrifice fly scored Jay Bruce.

Huff's RBI double in the bottom of the fourth made it 2-1 and San Francisco tied the game in the sixth when Nate Schierholtz scored.

In the next inning, Schierholtz's sacrifice-fly scored Chris Stewart before the Giants went up 4-2 when Huff added his second RBI of the game. Huff finished with three hits.

Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez struggled with control, walking five batters but allowed just two runs over six innings.

Ramon Ramirez pitched the seventh to pick up the win for the National League West-leading Giants (37-29) and Brian Wilson came on in the ninth for his 18th save of the season.

The win kept San Francisco a game in front of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the division while the Reds lost for the third time in five games.

Cincinnati starter Edinson Volquez allowed two runs in six innings and reliever Jose Arredondo took the loss after surrendering the two runs in the seventh.
